What Is Acdermin Gel?

Acdermin Gel combines Clindamycin Phosphate, an antibiotic, with Tretinoin, a retinoid, in a single topical gel manufactured by ATCO Laboratories. It is prescribed for acne vulgaris, targeting both the bacterial and pore-blocking causes of breakouts.

How It Works

Clindamycin Phosphate is a topical antibiotic that reduces the population of acne-causing bacteria on the skin, while Tretinoin normalizes the keratinization process inside hair follicles, helping to unclog pores and reduce comedone formation.

Dosage

Apply a thin film to clean, dry, affected skin once daily at bedtime, or as directed by your dermatologist. Using more than the prescribed amount does not speed results and can increase irritation.

Side Effects

Common effects include dryness, redness, and increased sensitivity to sunlight. Rarely, symptoms suggestive of an underactive thyroid or headache have been reported; contact your doctor if these occur.

Precautions

Avoid use during pregnancy. Use with caution if you have a history of inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, or an allergy to lincomycin-type antibiotics. Minimize sun exposure while using this gel, and use caution on eczema-prone skin.
