xWhat Is Apidra SoloStar 100 Units/ml?
Apidra SoloStar is a prefilled insulin pen containing Insulin Glulisine 100 units/ml, made by Sanofi. It is a rapid-acting mealtime insulin for adults and children with diabetes. This medicine requires a prescription and must be kept cold.
How It Works
Insulin glulisine starts working within about 15 minutes, peaks in around an hour and lasts 2 to 4 hours. It controls the rise in blood sugar after meals and is usually combined with a long-acting (basal) insulin.
Uses
Type 1 and type 2 diabetes in adults, adolescents and children aged 6 and over who need mealtime insulin.
Dosage and Use
The dose is individual and set by your doctor. Inject under the skin of the abdomen, thigh or upper arm within 15 minutes before a meal or within 20 minutes after starting one. Do a safety test before each injection, use a new needle each time, and rotate injection sites. Never share pens.
Side Effects
Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) is the most common: sweating, shaking, hunger, confusion. Treat immediately with fast sugar. Injection-site reactions and changes in skin fat at repeated sites can also occur.
Precautions
Do not inject if blood sugar is low. Adjust dose with illness, exercise or meal changes as advised. Store unopened pens in the refrigerator (2 to 8°C), never frozen; the pen in use can be kept below 25°C for up to 28 days. We ship insulin in cold-chain packaging.

Returns and refunds
