xWhat Is Azomax 500 Capsules?
Azomax 500 capsules contain Azithromycin 500mg, made by Sandoz. It is the standard once-daily adult dose for short antibiotic courses. This medicine requires a prescription.
How It Works
Azithromycin binds to bacterial ribosomes to block protein production, stopping bacterial growth; high tissue levels persist after the course ends.
Uses
Pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, skin infections, typhoid fever and certain sexually transmitted infections, as prescribed.
Dosage
Commonly one 500mg capsule once daily for 3 days, or as directed. Take at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Complete the course.
Side Effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, headache, dizziness and rash. Rarely, liver problems or heart rhythm changes.
Precautions
Not for people allergic to macrolides. Use with caution in liver disease, QT prolongation, low potassium/magnesium and with interacting medicines. Keep antacids separate.

Is Azomax effective for typhoid? Azithromycin is commonly prescribed for uncomplicated typhoid; follow your doctor's course length.
Can I stop after day one if I feel better? No, finish all doses.
