Exempa-Lin Met Xr Tablets 12.5Mg/2.5Mg/1000Mg contains empagliflozin, linagliptin and metformin. Empagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that helps the kidneys remove excess glucose through the urine. It is used with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes, and is also prescribed to reduce cardiovascular risk and to support patients with heart failure or chronic kidney disease. Linagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor (gliptin) that increases the body's own insulin release after meals to lower blood sugar in type 2 diabetes. Metformin is a biguanide, the most widely used first-line medicine for type 2 diabetes. It reduces glucose production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin.
