xWhat Is Aloc Capsules 60mg?
Aloc Capsules 60mg contain Fexofenadine Hydrochloride, a non-drowsy antihistamine made by Bosch Pharmaceuticals, Pakistan. It relieves hay fever, allergic rhinitis and itchy skin allergies. Each pack contains 10 capsules.
How It Works
Fexofenadine blocks histamine H1 receptors, stopping histamine released during an allergic reaction from causing sneezing, itching, runny nose and hives. It barely enters the brain, so it is much less likely to cause drowsiness than older antihistamines.
Uses
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever): sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy watery eyes
- Chronic urticaria (long-lasting hives and itching)
Dosage
Adults and children over 12: 60mg twice a day for hay fever, or as your doctor directs. A once-daily option is Aloc Tablets 120mg. Swallow with water. Take with water rather than fruit juice; grapefruit, orange and apple juice can reduce absorption.
Side Effects
Usually well tolerated. Possible effects include headache, dizziness, nausea and tiredness. Stop and seek help for signs of a serious allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or difficulty breathing.
Precautions
Leave about two hours between fexofenadine and antacids containing aluminium or magnesium. Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, are elderly, pregnant or breastfeeding. Although non-drowsy for most people, check how it affects you before driving. Store below 30°C.
Common Questions
Does Aloc cause sleepiness? Fexofenadine is classed as non-sedating, so drowsiness is uncommon.
Can I take Aloc with juice? It is best taken with water, as fruit juices can make it less effective.
