xWhat Is Amlocard Tablets 5mg?
Amlocard Tablets 5mg contain Amlodipine 5mg, made by Pharmatec Pakistan. Each strip holds 10 tablets. It is taken once daily to control high blood pressure and prevent angina. This medicine requires a prescription.
How It Works
As a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, amlodipine relaxes artery walls so blood flows more easily. Its long action gives steady 24-hour blood pressure control from a single dose.
Uses
- Hypertension, alone or with other blood pressure medicines
- Chronic stable angina and coronary vasospasm
Dosage
Usually 5mg once daily, increasing to 10mg if needed after a few weeks, as directed by your doctor. Swallow with water at the same time each day, with or without meals.
Side Effects
Ankle swelling, facial flushing, headache, dizziness, tiredness, nausea and palpitations are the most common. Rarely, mood changes, gum enlargement or skin rash.
Precautions
Not for people with severe hypotension, shock or significant aortic valve narrowing. Use carefully in liver impairment and heart failure. Avoid grapefruit juice in large amounts. Tell your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding. Store below 30°C.
