xWhat Is Amoxil Paediatric Drops 125mg?
Amoxil Paediatric Drops contain Amoxicillin 125mg per 1.25ml, made by GlaxoSmithKline Pakistan. The concentrated drops (20ml bottle when mixed) are designed for babies and young infants who need small, precise doses. This medicine requires a prescription.
How It Works
Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic. It kills susceptible bacteria by stopping them from building their protective cell walls.
Uses
Bacterial infections in infants such as ear infections, chest infections, throat infections and urinary tract infections, as diagnosed by a doctor. Antibiotics do not treat colds or flu caused by viruses.
Dosage and Preparation
Add boiled, cooled water to the mark, shake well, and measure each dose with the dropper supplied. The doctor calculates the dose from the baby's weight, usually given three times a day. Complete the full course. Keep the mixed drops in the fridge and discard any left after 7 days. Older children often use Amoxil Suspension 125mg/5ml.
Side Effects
Loose stools, nappy rash, mild skin rash and oral thrush. Seek medical help immediately for hives, swelling of the face or lips, or breathing difficulty.
Precautions
Do not use if the child is allergic to penicillin. Tell the doctor about kidney problems or previous antibiotic allergies. Never use a kitchen spoon to measure.

Can I mix the drops with milk? A dose can be given directly or mixed with a small amount of milk that the baby will finish.
