Azotek Tablets 500mg contain Azithromycin 500mg, made by Saffron Pharmaceutical, Pakistan, in packs of 6. This medicine requires a prescription.
How It Works
Azithromycin blocks bacterial protein synthesis; its persistence in tissues means short courses are effective.
Uses
Pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, skin infections, uncomplicated typhoid and certain STIs, as prescribed.
Dosage
Typically 500mg once daily for 3 days, though some infections (such as typhoid) may need longer courses as directed. Take with or without food and complete the course.
Side Effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, headache, dizziness and rash. Rarely, liver problems, hearing changes or irregular heartbeat.
Precautions
Not for macrolide allergy. Use caution with QT prolongation, low potassium or magnesium, liver disease and myasthenia gravis. Separate from antacids.
